When the owners of the Ricciocapriccio asked us to renovate their restaurant, we enthusiastically accepted the challenge, knowing that we had the opportunity to elevate the interior design to the height of Michele Nunghes’ original and refined cuisine.
Ricciocapriccio is historically a fish restaurant. The identity of the concept and the look&feel has been inspired by the sea. The coloured ropes woven on the black metal frames are a contemporary evocation of fishing nets, the intense blue of the walls and ceilings recall the colour of the ocean, the adjustable suspensions are inspired by boat lanterns.
We wanted to create a multi-sensory experience that can accompany, or even boost, the tasting of Michele’s delicious dishes,
From a space planning point of view the challenge was equally important as the kitchen was originally located in the basement and the restaurant had barely 24 seats. By covering part of the outer courtyard, we managed to bring the kitchen upstairs (open configuration) and create 10 additional seats.
